First, use peeka-bu to help decide where you want the base of your rectangle, as well as how long and wide you desire the design to be. Begin to shave horizontally to establish your edge for the top and bottom of the rectangle. When shaving the sides, start with vertical strokes, then move to a horizontal direction. Finally, go over the extremities with vertical strokes until the area is smooth.
